The way salt is manufactured, like anything, there is an opportunity to find foreign objects in a bag of salt. Although incredibly rare if not found by the person adding salt to their brine tank, the objects can make their way to any of the screens in the brine tank, or the valve and cause a clog. Or even worse, make their way through the screens and get lodged somewhere in the control valve. This customer in New London decided they wanted new equipment instead of trying to fix the system due to cost. They discussed with our staff on options and our economical ES-1044 was perfect for their needs. They also switched to a more pure salt to help save them from debris getting into the softener.
Water treatment solutions can vary in size and shape depending on several factors including water conditions, number of people living in the home, unique water features, the amount of water being used in the home and even time of day the water is being used. This customer in New London moved into a home with their family, however the previous owner lived alone. When Clean Water Center was called to consult on new water treatment our Project Coordinator quickly realized through testing and asking a few questions that the current system was way too undersized for the current family. After some discussion it was decided that a similar but more modern and larger system was to be installed. An EVR-1354 water softener and EVFE-1252 iron filter would keep the water in the home much more usable and cleaner. Appropriately sizing water solutions is important for water efficiency, salt efficiency, and balancing upfront cost with reoccurring maintenance. Additionally, this customer added our optional maintenance plan with lifetime warranty so the equipment is taken care of, salt is delivered regularly, and will be replaced when this set-up is ready to retire.
We had a customer reach out to use who just moved into a rental home. At the time of moving in there was a very old nonfunctioning water softener. The customer had soft water in the last home they lived in so they noticed right away when they moved it was hard water. We came out to test the water and see what we could do. We found the water to be very hard, we recommend to replace the old system. With the customer renting the home they didn't want to purchase a system. We went over out rental program and they decided that would be a great option for them. After a quick and clean install the customer is happy to have soft water again.
This customer called the Clean Water Center because he was looking for new water treatment equipment because they were occasionally noticing a "Wet Dog Smell" from the water. A Project Coordinator was able to go out to his house shortly after to test the water and offer solutions. When the Project Coordinator went out, the customer had said that their current unit has not been using salt, but can still hear it running at night. After testing the water, she found 23 gpg of hardness, and .8ppm of iron in the water. After further looking into their situation, they had found iron bacteria in the back of the toilets, and that could be the cause of the smell they were getting from the water.
They talked over solutions, and after finding 5 people live in their house the customer and the Project Coordinator decided that an EVR-1054 on the maintenance plan was a good way to go, as then we can monitor and maintain the new softener for the .8ppm of iron coming into the house, and should be able to prevent the "Wet Dog Smell" from ever happening again.
This customer called to say that he is looking for a new water softener for his home in the City of Hartland. Said that his current softener was regenerating too often, and that their water bill was going up. A Project Coordinator went out to his house to assess the water, and take a look at the old equipment and plumbing.
After the consultation, the homeowner decided to have us install a new AOP-1044 Water Softener.
